Flying Through Clouds.

Well, I know for a fact you can do it in Vue by E-On Software. It's a terrain and landscape creation tool. We used it for flight shots in my feature film and they came out really good. As far as a purely after effects based solution goes, there are things you can do with particles and the noise filter, but I don't know how impressive the result will be.

geeze, that's pretty bad unreal looking, Vue 6 can give you an extremely real full on volumetric cloud fly through.

Vue 6 is the best to use. If you dont have the time to learn Vue or the money....just find some real stock footage and use that. Not that revostock stuff though.

Vue is indeed great and I have experimented with it, but the render times is still going to be long (if you start using the advanced render settings, such as GI and volumeteric, etc)which you would need to get good results, thats something that needs to be factored in.

Of course if the guy has the time then thats fine.

I am sure its possible to port it over to other apps, most apps allows particles and light projection and thats pretty much all you need.

@wes - but the revostuff I postet her is REAL, no faking cgi!

Well yes, but CGI offers a hell of a lot more control over everything. Unless you can control nature. But CGI is expensive, and time consuming. It all depends what he wants to do with it. And I never thought of using Particular. I've never used it for that. That is interesting - I will look into it though.

take a look at form by trapcode.....looks like it might be possible to create eolving clouds with the smokelet particle.....

I've just been watching tutorials and have not bought this plugin yet but thought I'd suggest it.....
