Screw the gators... FSU is the way to go 
As far as shooting, Orlando may be uninspiring, however there is way more to Florida than Orlando. Go out west of there to Rock Springs, the skyline of Jacksonville at sunset, or Miami's art Deco district. You just have to look for it, which is why photos can be so awe inspiring. They show what you don't get to see everyday, or just overlook.
