I'm from Orlando. I've seen this thread periodically but it keeps fading. Maybe because everyone is doing their own thing or no one wants to commit organizing a meeting. At least those are my reasons.

I think people will get together if we have a common project to work on. Right now I'd like to find a short script to shoot. I'll admit, I haven't looked hard for one; I'm like everyone who wants a script w/ some action & good dialogue. But something 5-10min in length would be ideal since it would be manageable; something to get our feet wet.

So if anyone from the Orlando area has a good script or wants to collaborate on finding a good one, I'll be up for working on it.
 
I'm pretty sure I do. I wrote one for something fest here to film but didn't. PM me some time.

Also wanted to know if I were to have a Gh1 with tripod, rails, audio recorder and matte box what would be the going rental rate plus an extra helping body to accompany the gear.
 
I'm going to be in Orlando in a few months (january) working on a project. Any advice on locations, catering, or extras for a shoe string budget verite style film would be amazing.
 
i really can't do anything for Orlando, but im CFL if you need something in the surrounding area, I might be able to.

Also, we may never have a meeting for us Floridians, but at least we have this thread for our fellow Fl brethren to help each other out.

I own a HVX200 with a SGBlade 35mm adapter Nikon mount.
Have lights, systems etc. Also have a flying platform to shoot video from.

Bought this stuff for fun but have very rarely used it. Just sold my XHA1 since it was just sitting in the closet. Anyone interested in shooting something let me know.
 
That sounds awesome, I wish you lived closer to me. I am a Senior at the University of Miami and own an HPX170, Brevis and Nikon lenses along with some other equipment. I can also get a lot of other stuff from my school. If you ever come down this way I'd definitely be interested in shooting for a dvx fest.

Sounds good but I am not a big fan of Miami so I doubt it!
