Flipping your image for monitors

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to flip the image coming from the dvx into an external monitor for shots that would have the camera mounted upside down or being used with a micro 35?

Thanks, (r)yan

This might sound silly, but could you not just flip the monitor?

Edit: Horse beat me.

Great minds think alike. Makes me wonder how I was involved... ;)

Yeh but for some monitors it is not good to have them upside down for long periods of time.

Re: Flipping your image for monitors

Do you have any DVE's in mind?

This one is too much money but it will head you in the right direction.
Look at the videonics Audio and video mixer MX-Pro.

Speak to Rush at EVS to see what ideas he has in mind...I'm also sure there is a ton of used gear that you'd be able to dig up at ebay.

Or an old video toaster possibly...

Good luck.

Yeh if its more than 20 or 30 bucks its really not worth the effort, just hope the monitors can stand beign upside down

Re: Flipping your image for monitors

toshiba 14af44 tv, so its not a true production monitor but they are so cheap and so good we just can't say no to them 3 of them for less than what we can get 1 16:9 monitor

Love that monitor. I have it for confidence. I have an electronics catalogue at the office that lists a lot of products made by Horita, one of which may do that, but it will surely run you at least $300-400. I would say flip the monitor. ;D But don't hold me to any damages, it's a non-tech suggestion ;)

Re: Flipping your image for monitors

thanks Rush I appreciate it, we decided that we are just going to build a stand for the monitors that holds them at an angle very secure and at an angle.

Also how much does a 501 head run from you guys, as well as how much weight can you put on it?
