Flip out display question

I just got my DVX 100b today and was wonder if it is normal for the display to make a noise when opening it? It sorta sounds like when you put tension on fishing line.
 
Mine is silent when opening it, at least after the little click after you press the little button that holds it against the camera body.
 
I figured it out. It was the strap that runs from the hinge into the camera body. Apparently it's rubbing the body when I open and close the display.
