So now I come back to offering up my quick imperfect fix of using an optical grade mirror attached to hotshoe or 1/4-20 thread on the handle and positioning it to reflect the LCD image such that it does the vertical flip. It doesn't do Horizontal flip though. Vertical flip is crucial. But horizontal can be dealt with. Right is left, left is right. 
For Run & Gun, this can work fine. Any seriously controlled shoot will need either an external monitor or getting an imager that corrects the image like the Letus35Flip or the P+S Technik mini35. If the Letus35Flip reports had not been mentioning so much particle dust issues on optical parts, I'd be very interested in it. If anyone gets a hold of one and finds that the dust issues are non-existant, please post!
