Flickering screen in PAL mode - GF1

I've tried both PAL and NTSC of AVCHD mode with my GF1.

In PAL mode I noticed that the screen flickers a lot when recording in a slightly dark area or in lowlight. It frustrates me a lot when it comes to editing, it doesn't look good at all in 25p.

But in NTSC mode. There is no flickering at all.

I've tried these settings with my 20mm/14-45mm/and a Canon 50mm f1.8, all seems to flicker with PAL. I won't be shooting in PAL anymore, I will just convert MJPEG 30fps to 23.976 in AE with twixtor... Looks way way better than PAL 25p.

25p footage from the cam doesn't have that motion blur feel.

versamaz : PAL is 50Hz, NTSC is 60Hz. Coincidentally (or not), electric power is 50Hz in PAL country while it's 60Hz in NTSC country. That means that your light bulbs flicker at 50Hz/60Hz too: set your camera accordingly. That's why NTSC countries have NTSC cameras, while PAL have PALs.

Even while shooting in Chroma, the green screen flickers! And that one is well lit (only flickers in lowlight with my experience, but it sabotaged my chroma project!) My settings are all very much appropriate for certain situations.

I've shot in 24p with different cameras, but with the GF1's 25p, it's kinda sucky :o

The green screen flickers because of the lighting that you are using? are you definite that you can eliminate lighting as the cause? you still have yet to say if you are in a PAL or NTSC country and why you need to switch between the two? if NTSC works for you then stick with it? Does the native patch in the GF1 just drop frames in MJPEG like the GH1? sorry i'm a GH1 user.
