GH2 Flicker or strobbing on some shots

Since using my unhacked GH2 and also with my Nikon D5100 I do get a sort of flicker or strobbing effect on some shots. Those worse effected are type of shots with light coming through branches of trees. It was particulary bad on shots I did last winter where the trees were bare and covered in snow. I shoot at 25p and have 1/50th set for the shutter. Mostly hand-held, I am guessing it is an effect of the rolling shutter. Is there any tips to help reduce this effect- different shutter speed etc?

What do you mean by flicker?

What it sounds like you're describing is some sort of auto mode. It is possible that the lighting coming from the trees is causing the cameras to adjust their apertures or iso and thus the image exposure sorta bounces about.

The whole flicker (1/50th @25p) is more an electronic light problem. In sunlight it sounds more like it has nothing to do with your shutter speed and more to do with your camera clamping down and opening up as the amount of light changes. This can be super problematic in the winter when the sky is a big bright overcast soft light and the snow is one giant bounce.

The flicker or strobe looks a bit like the camera is altering the exposure. But I only use manual exposure and often manual lens like the Voigtlander 25mm. This effect seems most apparent on organic subjects like woods, trees etc rather than indoors or cityscapes.
