Hey Folks

I am needing to convert a flash (swf.) file to quicktime. I have cleaner, and squeeze. But I downloaded all associated files, and the programs will take none of them. Any sugestions.

As far as I know, only Flash can convert an SWF to a quicktime file. File>Export Movie>

Quicktime should be one of the options.

Flash's QT export is imperfect, but it'll work with simple files.

The biggest problem is if you use movie clips on your timeline (not video, but Flash's "clips" -- animation, etc. that is saved as a clip and dropped on the timeline, often used for things like moving legs when someone is walking, etc).

Those types of clips will not animate and just the first frame will display.

Also, in my earlier testing I recall having problems with audio.

One workaround is to use SnapzProX or any screen capture software that records movies.

Also, Amazon has a book on Hollywood Animation with Flash... apparently lots of staurday morning cartoons are now done with Flash running at 24fps; I haven't read it, but it has an "output" chapter and may have more details. Good luck-MC
