Here is my latest short film. A guy trying to enjoy an evening when some unexpected events start happening. Would love to hear some feedback...good or bad!!

Edited on Sony Vegas 11, did use a 100mm Macro lens on one shot, audio "foley" work done on Tascam DR-100...let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Well, it was interesting enough that I watched it all.

Obviously not lit, it's very very "flat" looking because you used ambient light.
There's at least one jump cut when he's sitting on the couch.
It doesn't look like you picked the right white balance. The yellow Tungsten cast to everything is pretty yucky looking.

Looks like you had a fun time making it. The Foley at the beginning was so exaggerated it was comical. In fact, I thought it was going to play into the story more but it seemed to disappear and just turn into production audio. The music really didn't fit. Far too epic. Looks fun.

Correct, wanted to see the low light capabilities of the 1.8 so did not use any light...other than the last scene with the black light. Originally was going to Foley the whole short, but decided to sub in music instead. Yeah, I only have epic sounding music and didn't want to "rip and copyrighted" music off. I appreciate the feedback and perhaps I will go back through and try to some different music...or lack of, ha!!

There are all sorts of jump cuts in the 3rd act of Goodfells, so I wouldn't worry about that because art is subjective, but foley needs work and lighting but we make mistake to learn from them =)

Like a line cross or shaky handheld, a jump cut done for a deliberate reason can work. A jump cut because you had no editing option but a jump cut (because of the coverage you shot) looks amateurish.

I fixed the jump cut, i didnt really notice it until it was pointed out. At the end of the day if the foley work and lighting are the main things i need to work on, then i am thrilled. I am going to keep shooting and learning and I appreciate the feedback....negative or positive.

Do need to work on sound being more consistant, the sound was all over the place no offense but keep doing what u do and u will learn as u go... hear is some great advice from Shane Hurlbut http://vimeo.com/23637983 for the rest of them go here http://www.video.bhphotovideo.com/i..._chl=21a75f44fa098827d21f1a1521be845b28981b01 here some lighting tips http://vimeo.com/33672808 and here video is on the top right hand corner on this one http://www.learntocreatethefilmlook.com/sq/1371-create-the-film-look hope all this helps

The thing that mainly bothered me was the Auto-exposure.

EDIT: What scared me the most was a 16-18yr old running around with a pistol. :P
