Fixing a Lens..can it be done?

Hello all, i got my Canon t2i out of its bag this morning, only to be shocked, when i noticed my Canon 50mm 1.8 lens had seminally broken. The lens still works fine, and no glass is broken, but from the focus ring, to the glass slides out of the main lens. as you can see in the attached picture. would it be posable to glue it back in? or will i have to send it into canon? if so, how much do they usally charge?

PS. i am a first time poster..so if this is the wrong thread, i apologize.

It might be better if you posted over at the canon threads, and also to post where you are based so people can direct you to a nearest service center thats in your area.

I don't think it's beyond repair, but with that particular lens you may be better off buying a new one than trying to repair it, unfortunately

Um, sorry to go off topic and all, but ... How did Taylor join this site in August of 1984?!

And yeah, that lens would probably be cheaper to buy new ($100) than ship it to Canon, wait 3 weeks for them to fix, and have them bill you $150 or so.
