GH2 Fixed SS & Auto ISO

I really want this feature.

Usually I know Aperture and SS setting. e.g. 2.0 and 50. Then ISO becomes the only variable.

Can the creative manual mode have auto ISO? When it began recording, ISO will be automatically selected and LOCKED. Or AEL button to lock the exposure.
 
Never mind about Creative Movie mode...

GH1 has the feature for PASM, but one glitch. When a manual lens is used, it's basically A mode. In daytime I used spot metering and locked AE on subject's face to get proper exposure. Then I quickly recomposed and began shooting. Wow. So so so convenient for run-n-gun style. But I can't tell whether it's using my specified SS or the default 30 SS.

My wishful thinking for GH1 and GH2... on "S" mode.

1. User can offset EV before pressing AEL.

2. When AEL is pressed, don't alter SS set by user. The camera should realize aperture value can't be changed because it's neither m43 or 43 lens. It should select an appropriate ISO automatically according to the desired EV level. Display the selected ISO value on the screen. When max ISO can't achieve the EV, display the SS and ISO values in red color.

3. When AEL is not pressed, pressing the shutter button or the movie record button should lock AE automatically only if the condition is met from #2​
 
Panasonic needs to allow the shutter priority mode to fix Shutter speed and of course aperture for manual focus lenses and then only vary ISO when you are in the Auto ISO mode. I believe this works currently for video but it does not work for stills.
 
GH2's S mode doesn't allow AEL for video.

I'm not even sure if it doesn't alter the specified SS value. Just like GH1, GH2 might set to min ISO at 160. Then it alters the SS to 30 or some default value. Then it selects appropriate ISO value.
 
The concept of a fixed, pre-set ISO is so pathetically archaic. The camera should make it easy for you to creatively set aperture and shutter speed while it adjusts the video gain to record the image with the correct exposure. Yes, at times I may want to set exposure manually to handle difficult illumination issues, but for controlled lighting shots, I just want the hottest exposure that won't blow out the highlights.
 
+1 on "pathetically archaic". But I prefer no parameter change once it begins recording. Varying SS, A, ISO, or anything during recording seems weird. Sometimes varying focus seems weird, too.

I'd like to set aperture and shutter speed manually. GH2 can't change aperture of legacy lenses. I know desired SS value. I just want GH2 to set ISO automatically. Not blindly though. When AEL button is pressed, I wanna see the auto selected ISO value. There's ISO limit option on the menu to set the allowable max ISO like 800. If the desired EV cannot be met by min or max ISO, the camera should prevent the recording.

This is sorta semi-manual mode. In uncontrolled setting, this could be a life saver. If ISO can be intelligently selected by the camera, why stop from 1/3 step ISO increment? Make it 1/5 step incremental to fine tune.
 
In the true manual video mode the GH2 will not adjust anything at all. You cannot select the Auto or Intelligent ISO modes and it will only use the ISO value that you select. It will allow shutter speeds below 1/25th if you are shooting in manual focus mode though.
 
In PASM modes, GH2 doesn't lock AE for video. As it continues to gauge EV, it changes ISO or SS continuously. Very annoying.

I did try to capture videos below 1/2 with the M mode (which you use for stills), but in this mode the gh2 uses auto iso. What I dont get is how the camera actually records in this mode, since you can change the shutter down to the lowest settings ("30 "60)...

True. Creative Movie mode allows the full manual settings. It's great in controlled setting.

I want semi-manual mode for uncontrolled setting. Auto-ISO! Lock EV!! And Go Go Go!!! Don't alter my SS setting!!!!!!!!!!

I need some anger management training.
