Did anybody else notice that you can press the REC button during a Zoom in or Zoom out with the 28-135mm Lens?
Does anybody know if this will be fixed with a firmware upgrade?
The handle is a lanc device which can only execute one command at a time. So you can push record start/stop and then zoom or stop zooming and push.
As another poster stated on the Sony forum, starting the zoom before recording or continuing to zoom when stopping makes finding an edit point hard. I agree and at least I wouldn't shoot like that. You can always use the record button on the side of the camera but that is certainly awkward if handheld.
oh thats the reason... thanks for the info. There is no stylistic reason at all for me to record during a zoom but I am shooting News and sometimes half a second counts, I guess I have to get used to it.
