Fitting the Guerilla35 to FX1

After watching the MacGregor footage, I'm pretty sold on this camera (FX1) plus the G35. ....it looks incredibly film like to me.......just what I'm looking for.

However- as far as I can gather from the reviews & brochure , the FX1 & Z1 don't have removeable lenses.

So my question is:

How is the G35 attached to the FX1..?

Is it some kind of conversion?

Thanks in advance

P.S Does any one have a date when the Guerilla35 will be available...?

Darren,
Good question. The production G35 mounts to the FX1/Z1 via the hood shade bayonet mount on the front of the camera. No screwing on necessary. You can then mount a support system to the bottom of the adapter as it has a 3/8" boss to accept a standard Arri Mini bridge plate. Hope this helps.

As for shipping dates, we will be accepting pre-orders in a few weeks (after our new site launch). We hope to ship mid December. If you wish to be added to the mailing list please send an e-mail to admin@guerilla35 with mailing list in the subject line. Cheers!

Jonathan... I know this must be an exhausted question, but are there any pics anywhere of the G35 adapter?

Our first production unit is being annodized as we speak. I will have photo's up next week. In a few weeks our new site will be up and all the info you will ever want to know will be up. Thanks to everyone for your patience. We want to make sure everything is spot on before releasing the finished G35.

Cheers.

Thanks.... guess I'll wait to find out about the features... you know.... is there the upside down veiwing?...... what brand lenses can you use with the standard adapter?

with the z1 or fx1 you don't need the magneto trick. You can just fold the lcd upside down and not push it all the way back in. THis way, the mirror view remains.

other words..... the G35 has the upside down view?
The G35 will be released with an image that is 180 degrees off of "normal" It is true though, with the FX1 and Z1 you can open the screen flip it over and close it almost to fully closed and retain a "flipped" image for viewing. The Sony screen is quite nice I might add.

Thanks Jon,

Jon, in your experience, what will the best way(s) to solve the 180 degree issue for the DVX-100A when using the G35 adapter?

I've heard different solutions.....some how using a magnet, in post, etc..... will a magnet damage my DVX?

appreciate your opinions.....

Good question. I'm not a Panasonic technician. So I cannot answer "Officially" However, as a shooter, I've used the magnet literally 100's of times with no effect. As long as it is strong enough to trigger the switch in the LCD but not too strong you are fine. From a manufacture standpoint. I would tell you not to use the magnet just out of liability. All in all what I would recommend is investing in a nice little LCD and flip that. That will aid you a bunch with focusing anyways.... I was re-reading you above post and thought of something. The magnet does not actually rotate the footage in camera. I might have misunderstood you. The only thing the magnet does is flip the lcd so you can view the upside-down image. Forgive me if I’ve misunderstood.

The magnes sticks on the LCD screen. This should not give any problems. Because you allready have had a magnet over there since you bought the camera: the internal speaker.
