firstore q's

Am borrowing a firstore fs4 pro 60 from a friend, and want to know if anyone knows the protocol for swapping the recorded clips to the drive and then editing, instead of editing from the firestore. System is an avid 4.5.1/mojo on a mac osx panther dual 2ghz.

Can I just swap the files to the OMFImedia files folder on the computer video drive, kind of in the same way you do with the avid tutorial material? What do you do after the files are swapped in order to use them in a project?

Thanks.

Since no one knows, I figured I would post since I sort of figured it out.......I just hooked up the firestore to the computer, enabled the firestore through the menu, copy and pasted the clip from the firstore to the computers video drive, and disconnected the firestore. Then opened the avid, opened a generic project, highlighted the bin, and imported the clip from the video drive's OMFI mediafiles folder. Played perfect in the source monitor, I marked an in and out and spliced it into the timeline, perfect.

I wonder why, though, that I didnt need to use the media tool as the firestore manual says you must.......anyone know?

Hope this helps someone else..........
