This is my final for my Directing class at Towson University. The idea behind the projects was this: we had to pick a random genre from a hat (I got crime) and then we had to go with the story idea/theme that the main character gets an email that changes his life, whether for good or for bad.

I had about 3 weeks to write, plan, shoot, and edit this all to turn in on Dec 15th. Shooting took 4 days to finish everything. Not only was that a time crunch but I've been working on 4 other student projects as well in conjuntion with the 2 other production classes that I'm taking...btw never take 3+ production classes a semester, last semester I took 4 and I wanted to tear my hair out, it was baaaaad.

I'm pretty happy with it so far but I had to put something on youTube today for my youTube class(it's a class about viral video on the net, pretty interesting if you ask me)...so any comments/suggestions would be really helpful! I have about a week to tweak and fix things (and put the actual music in once I get it back from my composer) so tell me what you liked, didn't like, if it bored you, if you didn't get the story, if this sucked or whatever. I can take criticism very well as you can't learn by someone telling you that "it's nice, I liked it" :)

The credits are not done at all, hell I don't even have a title yet heh but you can get the general idea.

YouTube class?? :)

Well, I thought it was pretty good. The ending was no surprise but I liked the way that you told the story. Minus all the lighter and cigarette sounds/shots in the opening. :)

I get what you were trying to say with all that but I thought it was a little over the top.

Still, the story sucked me in and I watched the entire thing. The editing was pretty good... I liked some of the shots as well.

For a work in progress I would say that you did a great job!

Cheers,

Mike

I just DISLIKE it when people, who especially have an HVX, post on YouTube. It destroys the beauty, and the nature of the toy all togethet! AT LEAST go www.blip.tv. That way its full quality, just try to keep her under the 200 mb limit.

I GUESS I'll take a look :)

Nice I'll check that out.

and I've found some pretty clean settings in Sorenson that I use specifically for youTube.

YouTube class??
Yeah it's actually pretty fun! although the work load is a nightmare. We had to produce a new 5 minute video piece every 2 weeks for this class which doesn't sound like much but when you tack on 2 other classes that pretty much require a boatload of work and a full time job PLUS making short films/music videos on the side for artists, it gets kindsa hectic and crazy.

The class pretty much revolves around YouTube being the next medium for information/entertainment and we had to make videos specifically for YouTube in hopes to entertain or inform (with specific guidelines). It's pretty fun so far, but my last class is tonight with this video as my final...thank God, I'm just ready to be done with school for a very very long time (I graduate on the 15th after 5.5 years in undergrad!)
