First Wedding with DVX

Hey, I didn't post up any ceremony pics cause they are just boring. I posted some pre-ceremony pictures and reception stuff. Let me know what you guys think.

I rendered this video and saw it on my TV. It looked like the contrast was way too strong. It's probably the settings on my TV also. I think it looks fine on the computer. What do you guys think?

The last two are sorta grainy, I know, but that room was pretty dark. I couldn't set up any lights or anything. Tell me what you guys think. You can be honest with me because I charged cheap for this one, and I want to be a lot better by next wedding or birthday party which is like in Dec. 31.

looks great. i'm assuming you haven't cc'd them yet. framing is nice too- i like the one with the three people, where you can see the sides of their faces. framed well- but the plants are a bit distracting.

I agree with Zach. You got in tight and the framing looks great. Seems like grab #7 is a little green/blue. Maybe you forgot to white balance coming from inside? The other outside clips have great color to them. Nice DOF as well. Did you use any adaptors?

Thanks for the compliments and tips. No, I didn't use an adapter. And, yes, they were all color corrected, including the greenish one which I did on purpose just to mess around with the video. I'm probably not gonna leave it like that in the finished product. Just messing around with my new DVX. But they were all color corrected in Vegas (consumer version). Also, the plant won't be distracting in the video because I will be switching from many different angles and stuff so it will be very filmic.

Keep those suggestions coming if you got them. Thanks!

Nice pics and rich colors and blacks. Looks very good.

What camera settings you used in this wedding video? thanks

Well about the camera settings, I have no clue. Lol! Well I do, but I don't remember them. I used 24p on the scene dial thing. I didn't mess with anything else. I just messed with the iris and the shutter speed. I did the rest in my consumer version of Vegas. I am going to bring down the contrast though because it looks way too contrasted on TV. What do you guys think? It looks good on the computer screen but on my room TV, it looks very contrasted. I don't have a monitor, so I don't know what it should look like. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Oh yeh, those were nice avr. I've seen them before. Ok, I will try that out then. I was watching some of Laguna Beach (cause I love the way they film it). I was wondering, do you think they use the DVX. It looks pretty darn similar to the DVX, if not, it has to be film, and I'm pretty sure they don't have the money to shoot on film, so it has to be something close to film, the next best thing- DVX! Lol! Do you guys know what they shoot on.

Well anyway, I was watching it and found that their contrasts are perfect and looks good and how mine are too contrasted. So I am going to try to bring it down. I wish I had vegas 6 so I can hook up my TV to it so I can preview it while I edit it. In order to see the final result, I have to render it and then burn it onto a DVD. Grrr! Lol! Thanks for the comments guys!

Yes, the girls are really attractive. Considering they are all Brazilian. This is a Brazilian wedding. Lol!

Oh yeh, one more thing. I bought this shoulder harness thing for my DVX to make my weddings more still. I find that it starts to hurt my back after a while and whenever I switch positions with my hands or something, or walk with it, it gets very shaky. Do you guys think I should just go hand held. I have more control like that but I'm not sure if I would be last for that long. I also don't have money to get a gluidecam (yeh right!...maybe in the far future...lol...especially after I just bought the DVX). I also don't have the skill to build my own stuff. do you guys have any suggestions. I also have a monopod as well, just to let you guys know. Peace!
