First video post

Re: First video post

I was completely satisfied with it just the way it is!! Nice shots, and the cuts and edits worked very well with the music on the trail riding portion.

I'm interested to know what might still be needing to be done to this one. I'm no expert.

Re: First video post

I liked it! You've got a good eye for composition. Some tricks that would work really well with this subject:

- Frame or edit in more close-up work - it'll break up those wide shots a little.

- Try breaking some of those aerial shots into separate sections using the SPLIT function in your editor. Try slowing or speeding on the split - you'll not see a physical edit, though the second half of the edit will capture and enhance the clips details through slow-motion.

- Shoot some interview clips, crowd reaction shots or video headshots of the riders that can be intercut for a few frames here and there after a particularly impressive move.

I'd love to get about four cameras into that warehouse with you - I could shoot that all day long.

Cheers,

Veidog,

I thought the intro was a little shaky, especially when you increased the speed of those guys building the ramp. I would highly recommend using a tripod in the future if you want to increase your speeds.

I'd agree with overlandfilms with more close-ups. Especially in the bike park. You should get on the ramp with those guys and get the action. Different angles make bike vids 20x's better.

Other than that looks great, You have pro riders catured and that makes for a great vid as well.
keep the camera rolling!

"Did You Use A Dvx?" Yes everything was shot on my DVX 24pa mostly in stretch mode.

I agree, I changed the beginning and cut out some of that shaky footage.

I know what you mean about split edits and the close ups. As far as getting head shots and reaction shots...I'm working with limited footage. Most of this footage was shot at one night’s event. Thanks again for all the great feedback!! This helps allot! I love this forum... peace, mark.
