So this is my first little bit of footage. The camera is all handheld and, it was quickly edited. This is the first time I was messing around with my DVX 100b... Can some help me out with the pixelation, it only when I upload to youtube, it 's not on the normal copy.

This doesn't even look like DVX100B =/

The DVX100B has a lot more potential than that :)
Did you shoot 60i?

You need to try out different youtube settings. It really butchered this one...

Maybe try another online uploading site? don't know many.

Keep shooting, and it'll get better and better each time.

:(
Here are my scene settings maybe I'm doing something wrong with them

DETAIL LEVEL -3
V DETAIL LEVEL -1
DETAIL CORING +2
CHROMA LEVEL +3
CHROMA PHASE 0
COLOR TEMP -2
MASTER PED -5
A. IRIS LEVEL 0
GAMMA B.PRESS
KNEE HIGH
MATRIX CINELIKE
SKIN TONE DTL On
V DETAIL FREQ Thick
PROGRESSIVE 24p (A)

I shot in 24p (A)
I captured in 24
I edited in 24
But then when I rendered in 24 it looked choppy.
It looked smoother at 30 frames... I don't know why.

You Tube did butcher it quite a bit though... Now it is all pixelated and what not...

check out www.blip.tv
you can have maximum 100mb, but you don't lose any quality once it's on the site. Even if you have a nice 30 second clip, full quality, 15 mb, and you put it on youtube, you lose quality and the picture is disgusting. Youtube is the worst sight ever made for uploading videos, and the funny thing is, it's meant for that and its so popular. Why dont they do something aoubt it?

The youtube compression really did a number on you.

You did a good job with exposure. You need to practice holding the camera steady.

downsouth, thanks a lot. Check in the user films section, my post called "My new short film" that will be up soon!

Ya, will not be hand held for most things... I just took the camera to the game and tried messing around...

New tests show V DETAIL FREQ is better set to thin at lease for this kind of thing.
