Hi guys, i just registered to this forum, but i have been reading most of your useful posts for the past month. I finally could afford to upgrade from my Canon 7D to the amazing FS700.

Here is my first test. Cloudy day, fs700 with kit lenses ( for daylight i really enjoy the image u get from this lenses ).

Fell free to comment good and bad things.

And once again thank u for being so active in this forum ;)

Too much slow motion. I guess that's the point with the FS700. ;) Congrats on your upgrade. Did you color grade at all or was this the original image off the regular profile?

Yes it has a lot of Slow Motion. I got carried away :P This was shoot with PP4, and simple color correction on Premiere Cs4.

Dude that was great. When i first had my FS700. I kill it with slow-motion. It is a great feature and I would keep practising with it cause the more you shoot with slow-motion the more you will fall in love with it. I would move the camera from left to right or up and down when when you are recording slow-motion. With slow-motion, if I remember correctly you only gonna get about 7 second with 240 FPS. Framing your shot within that 7 second is the key. One last thing! I could cut down the length of the video to 1.30 mins. This is what I have learn from most of the guys in here who has taught me how to go about my shot with the FS700. At the end of the day....do enjoy your camera and have fun with it. welcome to the dark side hehe.

Hi Daomay, great to have your feedback. Your videos were very important to me when it came to choose the fs700. You still have it right ? I really like the way you shoot your videos, congrats. Yes, the video should be shorter, i think when i see it, time seems to go faster, but i really understand it can be boring for who is watching ;) Next Saturday i am gonna shoot a girl practicing some archery near a airfield. Ill keep in mind all the advices you guys said ;)

You can chop my dick off and turn me into a ladyboy but you will never take the FS700 off my hand :-) Trust me mate, it is never boring when I see another artist's artwork slow-motion or not. I like it and I am sure you like it too...all I am saying is that you works can even be better. I believe in you and your awesome FS700. Good luck with your next shoot.

Yes i am in love with my fs700 too. It is such a major upgrade for me from the previous 7D. But now i am broke :P But never been so happy.

i think the slow motion killed your clip, there was no point to do it for most of the "scenes" u filmed. its like u do it just because u can , not because u need it to tell the story. a lot of over exposed moments, in fact almost in every frame, where whites are crashed - i would work on that, instead of pushing slow motion in every hole u can.

also if want to film a boxer... get a boxer . not just big guy with gloves.... in best case scenario he is a starter,- crazy amount of mistakes in his movements, painful to look.

but over all its not a bad thing as long as u film regularly and try to improve , work on mistakes! now when u have kind of a pro cam, use WF monitor, zebras..... tools like that to judge your exposure!

btw Philip bloom has a great clip about 1 boxer ..... take a look u ll find it on his website, true peace of art....

Thanks anatusa, i will listen to your advices for sure. Has it was the first shoot i was really excited with the slow motion, and your are right about the over exposed moments. When i was looking at the lcd it looked fine, and i had only 15 minutes to shoot. It was more like a take it out of the box and shoot something. I hope next time i'll do better. I live in a small town in Portugal so, he was the best i could get in such a short notice ;)

Once more, thank you very much for the advices.

1st thing i would say learn to trust the tools your cam has, LCD it is not something u can trust when we are talking about correct exposure... its a common mistake for guys coming from dslr world, as there are no proper video tools that your new cam has. Slow motion is a real candy and i am sure it will be hard to hold your self from using it just everywhere, but remember its just another tool, great one, but still its just a tool, the story comes 1st.

Hey guys, thank u for your advices. This time i used the zebras and even the ND filter, but i wasn't really happy with the result, i did get a lot of grain. And there was a lot of light. Can u tell me why this happened ? thanks for your time ;)

I just finished shooting an entire feature and did not run into noise problems, with one exception- sometimes the iso/gain switch would accidentally get bumped into a higher gain position. So be sure to check that. I'm using a revised version of PP 4.

Hi guys, so this time i did try to work with zebras. I am still getting used to all this new features. Some slow mixed with 25fps. I also tried the 400fps, i guess it is only useable if we don't have any lines on the scene. Thanks for your advices.
