First Studio Work grab

this is the first time I have shot in a studio using my DVX... just wanted to share with ya the results..

I think the black levels look pretty damn good..

This is the first time I have lit a scene, so it is not entirely well done.. somewhat underlit(a look i was going for, but it could stand to be a bit brighter).

I used all the default settings except for:

24pa
1/48 shutter
B.Press Gamma setting
Cine_Like Matrix

chroma sampling inherent to the DV25 codec.....

one reason I wish that magically all DV video could have 4:4:4 colour space...

I have a rule for this... simply avoid reds like the pest!

Funny, I shot something close to this today... But I don't like it at all (Yours is better than mine, anyway)... I just don't buy it that we should think lost images in a flat black background are interesting. To me they are just dull.

Other than that personal note, you really did your job well. You can solve your chroma problem through a nice tool called chroma blur. Shaw has written a tutorial on how to do this... I just couldn't find it right now.
