First shot with lenses ...

Hey, just wanted to direct you guys to something I shot recently with some new lenses ... it was shot for a 24 hour film festival in which we had to shoot/edit in a day, so the editing is a bit rough, and a few scenes had to be cut.

I apologize for the shitty YouTube upload, but I don't have space to put up a nice version right now. (I'm also quite aware of the vignetting, which I couldn't account for at the time of shooting since I didn't have a monitor.)

Tell me what you think, what I could do better ... I've never used lenses of any kind on the DVX, so any pointers would be awesome.

I noticed some vignetting in some shots, and just an all around soft out focusy feel to a lot of them. It makes it feel like it was shot with a still camera from 1900 with how shallow the depth of field is. I have no idea how to remedy that, maybe more light and close the iris, someone qualifyed will tell you, not a dumbturd like me.

But I will say this would be a more hilarousier short if the main actor was more serious and had bigger balls, it felt too much like kids, but it was funny.

And the framing in the close ups is off, the look is space is on the wrong side or too little, and the head room is cut off.

not digging the vignetting on the right corners but besides that, great flick. not many here are good at comedy. you nail it

hahaha its very pythonesque humor. I can't believe this was all done in just 24 hours! Amazing job considering the time you had to accomplish it in.
