FS7: first shoot questions

I just picked up the fs7 and used it on one shoot. I found a couple of things to be annoying during the shoot. The white balance controls seem a little fiddly. Is there a way to quickly dial white balance in, similar to say the way it worked on fs700? I also was switching back and forth from UHD to HD in order to shoot slow motion. Every time I switched back to HD and hit the S&Q button, the slow motion was defaulted back to 60p. Hopefully I'm just missing something but I couldn't find any answers when searching.

Were you shooting CineEI or Custom Mode? In CineEI, you are limited to the 3 preset values. In Custom Mode, you can set a Preset via the camera menu or do a custom white balance in either position A or B. You could also set a specific temp in the A or B positions using the menu.

What I would have done regarding switching between UHD and HD for purposes of slow motion would be to save an ALL FILE for each setting and then just load the set up you wish to shoot.

A plug here for Doug Jensen-- he's produced some great material and it might be worth it for you.

I was shooting in custom. When I set a specific temp using the menu, there always seemed to be a weird magenta cast to it. I guess there is no way to just quickly dial in temp without going into the menu or shooting a white card?

So it's not just me with the slow motion defaulting to 60p? Any reason as to why it would do that?

I'll check out Doug Jensen's material. Thanks!

Make sure the camera firmware is 2.0. Otherwise there are definitely magenta issues.

Even in 2.0, I had heard some reports that a dialed white balance is only magenta free on PRESET, and that A & B should still be white carded. Not sure if that's accurate, but I've taken a better safe than sorry approach.

The menu structure and the nature of what is saved as a setting between mode changes means with current firmware when you switch between UHD and HD you'll lose the S&Q highspeed preference. Many of us have complained about the lack of a quick switch for this.
