I'm bringing my DVX100 with an epic underwater case tomorrow for the first time.
I'll be shooting some rescue swimmer work from a helicopter and need some advice on proper settings.

I plan on going with:

Focus set to infinite...
shutter at 100 or 120...
Auto iris... Should I keep this on manual and just keep it around 5.8?
ND filter set to 1/8th

Once my camera's locked in I wont be able to take it back out to adjust any of the settings. any recommendations ?

if you don't have control to the camera, why would you want to shoot manual?
If I didn't have contorl of the camera I would go auto mode...

rather then making a bet and shooting in one mode, why don't you just do a little test before hand.
if your bet goes wrong, you would loose all your footage and bacitally waist your entire day just because you didn't do a 5 minute test.

I was planning on setting the iris to auto... I could have worded my original question a little bit better. just curious if anyone thought there would be objections.
Tomorrow is somewhat of a trial run for me. I'll have opportunities in the future to grab the same type of shots. No doubt it'll be a learning experience. All that said, I would like to grab at least a few decent shots.
 
well if u dont have a polorizing filter already..get one for the next time. it will cut down on glare coming from the water. I hate auto iris ...exposure levels will be shifting all over the place...but i guess u have no choice. u may also want auto focusing. I guess u'll see what works 2morrow for the future.
