First run with Glidecam Hd2000

yes strictly running - fast as heck - but no more than 10-15 sec at a time. Once balanced correctly the HD 2000 is incredible smooth. My trick was to start slowly, then when the bike caught up, sprint along for 10 sec or so....after which the glidecam...and me would both go out of balance/breath.

Rattlesnakes are coming out though...

Just the stabilizer - from what I've read the west will limit your maneuverability somewhat. The set-up is not to heavy. I use 3 weight disc on each side, a rapid release (manfrotto 577, bought separately) and then use only the small stock battery.

But balance is absolutely essential, it must be perfect!! - took me 2 hours to get right.

That is some smooth stuff... and this is why so many steadicam guys are going out of business.. Lighter smaller camera and good quality stuff at reasonable prices...

Cheers and thanks for sharing.. Do you have some pics of how you set it up? I have used one for a bit and man it does give you a forearm workout. I could do maybe 15 minutes straight and then have too take a break...
