First random test footage

Hey guys, this is my first quick edit of random test footage I slapped togeather. Check it out...

I really liked how the slug footage turned out - I need to work on the slow motion strobing problem.

... also, I know it's not complete, it's still coming togeather.

Does anyone else notice the crackling audio? I am editing in FCP HD... can't seem to get the audio to not crackle after export. Any ideas?

Re: First random test footage

the cracks in the sound is usually due to the mp3 format that the FCP handles strangely. I haven't seen the video yet but it could be because of imported mp3 audio track. Try to import it as wave file. You can do the conversion easily in quicktime.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Final Cut Pro doesn't convert 44.1khz to 48.0khz (or whatever) very well. iTunes does it great, so convert your music to an aiff file in iTunes, then bring this into Final Cut Pro and you're all set.

I also had similar crackly audio once while using a boom mic because of a kink in the xlr cable (I believe.) When I held the mic still it wasn't an issue, however.

Re: First random test footage

The hiccuping audio was somewhat distracting, but I enjoyed the random footage you threw together ... fun with time warping.

Aside from the overblown highlights (sky) and underexposed interior shots, looks like you had fun. I want one. ;)

The manual focus (I'm assuming) of the King of Beers looks sharp too.

Really? I thought that was the auto... And the interiors seemed alright to me...

Re: First random test footage

It was manual focus... I liked how the beer cans showed up. The raw footage looks incredible. The interior shots were ok... no intentional lighting. Just running and gunning through that whole thing. Thanks for taking a few to check it out guys.
