Ok here is a a mocked up prototype of the new Shooting Machine walnut side grip. Code named Pistolbunny (it looks like a bunny!) it will trigger the FS100 and FS700. Made of black walnut, hand carved and finished (no CNC). Made right here in USA. IT HAS SONY MENU ACTIVATION. I'll report back tomorrow on what- I'm planning on EXPANDED FOCUS and DISPLAY and the 6 user PRESETS - all on a thumb joystick with "center enter". It fits to rosettes or rods with dual axis control - and from the new FS700 rosette - height control. It's pretty adjustable. it's darn smart too - with a Diplomatic brain that speaks Sony fluently. The trigger has a hinged security guard to prevent misfires- heck why not! More info coming soon. We're still carving and coding- I just wanted to let you know what we had cooking here.

Also a new Full size Cheeseplate and matching Over the Lens rod clamp.

These fit the FS100 now and will fit the FS700 and several other cameras in the coming weeks. It attaches to the FS100 and 700 the same way our ShotGrip handle does- the strongest 4 point connect out there. Custom designed for the Sony FS series camera's not just a flange with two screws. This works with our top handle or as a stand alone with anything you like using. Sold separately. Pricing is on the way soon. Will also bundle with Shotgrip handle soon.

Our Low Profile "stub clamps" were so handy I started attaching all kinds of things they were never designed for. Well now they ARE. These products will put gizmos about anywhere- and save you money doing it. Introducing:

Gender benders. 1/4 20 "gender benders" turn any 1/4 socket from male to female or vice versa- with a locking finger nut.

Turret Mounts. Turrets are like a mini "tank gun turret". The rounded turret threads into any female stub clamp and then rotates 360 degrees with a slot head lock down screw that you can "coin op". The screw is easy to access- right where the circular "hatch" is on a tank (where you toss the grenade down.) Turrets change the direction of the male 1/4 stud 90 degrees- and rotate 360. yeah? ;)

Stud plugs. We sell threaded rod now and new threaded "Stud Plugs" (these fit zacuto threaded rod too) the plugs screw right in the end and gives you a 1/4 male stud at the end of the barrel.

C-48's. Plain old 1/4 20 studs with lock nuts. Have a cheeseplate? you'll want a handful of these.

All these little connectors make sense immediately when you see them. Hard to describe in writing!
I hope they'll make a lot of things that are gommy and expensive - simple and affordable. And my personal favorite - adjustable!!

Thanks all

Looks good, especially the handgrip would be nice. The stock one is quite wobbly and the rec button gives no feedback. While run and gun shooting I often miss hitting the rec button properly. Then I end up with footage of me carrying the camera and at the end some action in frame is about to happen. THis always happens, as I use SmallHD monitor without data overlay and therefore no red light.

So long story short, I would like to see a start/stop button with a mechanical feedback, so that one knows if the camera is rolling.

Have you covered on the trigger. I've been going over switches for two months at alarming expense! Currently I'm paying over $200 in switching per grip. Yes, that is not an error. Actually just under 200. I'm currently using approx 2.5 foot lbs of force, have to double check on that. Feels just right. Very positive - and a built in weapons system, hinged flip guard on trigger. It's the ultimate. Then there is the 5 action joywheel under the thumb for menu activation. And no I will never tell where I get these from, I am filing the name off every one personally ;)

I'm ready to invest my money for this project anytime. Is there any way to preorder it or get pre production models? Be beta tester?

Thanks Khachick,

I'm offering 25 up for pre-reserve at nab. I'll have reserve online in 2 days as well with photos and full info. First come first served. Shipping will be 6/6/12 and $100 off your price if I miss that date. I mean business!

These are going to be spendy. There is no way to hand carve a highly contoured grip, put dual lemo sockets, usb control, joystick menu activation and the best switching out there- with a coded brain and 3 axis rosette ergonomics for prosumer pricing. Think of this as full pro, with a great price but for the Chroziel/Arri/Aaton world. I made the best thing I could this time. Let the pricing be what it is. This is a real camera tool.

Is it the maximum configuration? I remember I have read here somewhere that you will have several different confg.

They are all the same until some are fitted with extras or not. In the next 2 weeks I will nail that down. I'm curious to get some industry reaction at nab and then finalize price points and build options. I have 2 being sent on to a magor feature shooting abroad right now and will be giving one away at nab ( plan to). Gotta sleep!

Yes max configuration is where my emphasis is. Max are finished now. Firmware may take another week or so, but is all tested and functional, have to troubleshoot firmware to like the Nth degree. Even for a "simple" handle!

It's not beta. You'll see soon. It's extremely developed. We built a lot of prototypes like with the ShotGrip. We've gone through 5 total builds. Pictures in 24 hrs or so. We shot them last night. Flying now, writing copy in airport. Ah, product launching. It's a lot like shooting an indie feature!

This is the other end of me. the part I sit on. I can swing front and back, side to side. I'm flexible. IN fact I'm the most flexible grip in the world. by far.

Finally getting a chance to work the showgirls into our marketing effort! Thanks Sony!

No pricing yet, busy at nab showing it. Works perfectly on the FS700. The under the thumb joystick controls the new Expanded Focus X2/X4 modes and all the Displays- and it triggers the camera. Nice fit to the rosette too. Sorry for the photo quality below, the Sony booth was packed. I'll shoot a video today that shows the grip in some real detail. The first photo shows the new Cheeseplate cased with two new Knucklebunny Grips. The rest are of the Grip at Sony's massive nab booth. and Yes I was exposing and focusing on the models- was this wrong? ; )
