I see aliasing but I am using a 1366x768 display, is this the problem?

Looks dark to me. Wondering if this camera lacks low light capability.

I still don't understand people expectations for night footage to look like it was shot at high-noon.

Somewhat unreal expectations have been set, by film standards. But when reality comes to buying, we always get what is available to us at the time. Regardless of wether we're happy about it. Hitchcock did not like some kinds of film. ( I know I am taking that a bit out of context, but it proves that people will complain about technology. Just like people complained about cameras getting big when sound came into play. )

Besides the obvious and long known benefits of full 35mm sensor size, large sensors have become ubiquitous with low-light superiority. So, it is understandable that a Nikon FX camera will at least be considered on these attributes.
