First night of shooting with Voigtlander .95

Greetings all...

I shot mostly stills tonight at a BBQ party and a bit of video that I'll upload and combine with some other stuff I shot probably later this week... Just wanted to throw up the link to the stills.. Nothing really super special for a setup but mostly shot at 1600 with lens wide open.... ONly kind of lighting was from a couple of camp fires and a small worklight in some of the shots...

I simply love the GH2 for stills and video and really really really love the voigtlander... Its happy accidents are nicer than some of the things I got out of other cameras... I feel blessed to have this much fun and want to find excuses for shooting and isn't that something we all love...

cheers and here's the link.. I just used Picasa so I hope it worked right and the link works and all that... I think I'll need a good way to manage stills and this might be a good starter...

i wish i could afford this glass right now.... Awesome quality, Justyn what did you use to clr correct if anything?

Thanks guys.... I didn't do any color corection or tweeking or anything. I believe picasa also uploaded compressed files so these aren't the actual camera specs or that... Also the lens is a bit pricey but I believe it's the best bang for the buck right now... Something like this with the Zeiss name or Leica would be 5-10 times as much.... It's also going to provide a lens that can capture things in almost impossible situations. The kit lens would have been rough to get an image on this.. but you know what, my 1.8 would have done pretty well I believe... Maybe I'd have to have an on camera light but that's fine... We all have to build up our collection of lenses so I wouldn't feel too much envy or frustration over not having this just yet... you'll get it. Also, this is a friend's lens that I'll be "borrowing" a lot. I just hope he knows how hard it will be for him to get it back.. lol. I also think that the 20mm 1.7 will be a great lens to get and with the compatability with the camera, it'll be able to do things that the voigtlander will not be able too. Either way, we are blessed to have these options without having to spend a crazy amount of money... I like this voigtlander 10 times more than the 1.2 85 mm cannon that we've rented and which costs 2200 bucks.. That lens is no slouch but I don't think it's as functional and as fun to use....

The steak was unbelievably good. Brazillian BBQ... Since you are in Rockledge you should come on down to Orlando next time we have one. It would be my honor to host another DVXuser friend.... I've met lots of great people from this site.... And you are so right. What I say is full frame, smull frame..... The Gh2 is an absolute pleasure to work with and after an hour of shooting your hand won't fall off like it will with a 5d... They should have also made that possible to pound nails its such a beast...
