First Music Video.

Well I thought the video was alright but I thought the editing could of flowed a little smoother. The audio was kinda bad in my opinion. The song screams FL STUDIO. I thought the beat was really annoying and just sounded amateurish.

But hey man, for your first video i thought you did good. Just tighten up the editing and get some better quality audio.

Yeah I agree. The song was for a contest so the beats were already provided. my friend could only pick from like 5 beats and they were all pretty bad. He told me about it the day it had to be submitted so we just went out and shot with no time to plan it out. i only grabbed about 25 minutes of footage. Thanks alot for your feedback.

most of it doesnt seem sync'd at all to me and it looks like he's mumbling the words. and yeah the beat, you got stuck with that it sounds like. the editing seemed off from the sound too - it didnt pace well or have any flow for me. I'm also getting tired of seeing these really boring rap videos where its a guy by a car and then a guy in the middle of nowhere and then back to the car etc etc. way overdone. wasnt even great the first time. I'd give it more of a story and make it more interesting. And bring up the vocals in the mix - or bring down that annoying beat. did they say that the beat had to drown out the vocals?

Thanks for your feedback. I didnt make the audio track at all. my friend brought it to me and it had to be uploaded that night. he hasnt given me a better track. the synch is of course going to look off on youtube or any streaming website. the video is definitly not what i would like it to be but we just basically went out, with a little over 2 hours of daylight and only the 2 of us. i would have liked to put more time into an interesting story but we just didnt have much time and i never shot a video or anything else for that matter and i wanted to make sure i had at least useable footage.

I really see am improvement from the first edit you posted. The CC really helps give it a better mood. Very nice work with what you had to work with.

I was really interested because I was in pre planning on my rap video. The two are very different in style. Here's my 95% edit.

Thanks alot. I appreciate your comments on the color correction. I looked at yours very quickly and the picture is great. What did you shoot with. The video looks pretty good and the effects were great. You didnt go overboard with effects. I would just suggest to cut it a little tighter and use as much of the different setups as you can.

Thanks, I am still tweaking and will probably add grain and an overall color correction style. Will probably do a few rack focus tricks and defocus others.

Shot in 4 hours with HVX200, 720 24p.

Not bad for a first try. 2 things stuck out to me: audio synce issues and poor location/framing for the performance pieces. I like that you had alot of cutaways and there was more than one or 2 shots that I see on alot of videos here, but I am not sure how they fit into the song.

Can't fault you for the crappy track. keep em' coming!

I thought it was probably an hvx Brian. The color correction and focus stuff should definitely bring it all together. Let me know when its done, I would like to see what you do with it.

Thanks for the comments Cecil. The framing of alot of the shots has been bothering me when watching it back now. i also agree that I should have tried to grab things more relevent to the music but I had only heard it once through while in the car to go film it. i definitely learned some things and hopefully Ill get better each time.
