First time using the HVX200. I Dp'd (first time doing this), Operated, edited, directed did basically everything but sang in the damn thing. We had a budget that covered the camera rental and that was it.

Check it out and tell me what you think! Love hearing input from people out there doing things rather then just talking about doing them.

Thanks and enjoy.

First...what I like. Your editing in this style is top notch.

Your composition is also top notch.

Issues I had

You had a few blow outs in the highlights.. not too many but with the latitude of this camera you have to be careful.

I did get tired of the gun cleaning and felt some kind of story arc would have held my attention better.

I really get tired of fake film looks on HVX/DVX footage... it just gets to be too much.. you did use it well... it's just what everybody does... you can ignore that... as it's just opinion and another could like it just as much as I'm against it.

Really good for your first or 50th outing with the camera.

Keep it up.

Thanks for the advice. Gearing up to shoot a new video next weekend! Will def keep an i eye on the blowouts!

Thanks again!

I liked it. It flowed well with the music and I agree...the cuts were top notch! I would have liked to see some kind of story as well. I'm in the planning stage of a music video right now and the story is the heart of it. That's what will keep the viewers attention when the music sucks, IMO, lol. I'd really like to see the next vid you make. Good luck on it and be sure to use the Zebra function on the HVX.

Hey awsome job with the video, the only thing i saw was kinda wack was the begining, the intro from 7sec - 22sec didnt really understand what was going on, we saw a gun in the begining but then was thrown off, but overal great job, keep up with the good work

I made most the film effects in photoshop. Also scanned old film cells and short ends I had sitting around. There is stock footage of stuff floating around the web too but this was a no budget shoot. Only money we had was for the camera rental.

Thanks for taking a look. Will have the latest video up soon.

Not an extreme fan of film-clutter effects, but amazing job in CC and using available light with the HVX200 and not lighting everything flat (what time of day did you shoot?). Like the desaturated look.

I liked the composition a lot. Good cutting between all of the CU's. The only time I kind of got distracted was when you could actually see blue sky behind him in the semi Wide Shots, but just CC the blue out and I'd be even happier.

For no budget, very good work.
