Panasonic representative, Matt Frazer, visited Zacuto headquarters in Chicago to give us a first look at the Lumix GH4. This latest offering from the Lumix lineup is making headlines as the first-ever (DSLM) digital single-lens mirrorless camera with built-in 4K video recording. Matt describes the GH4 as packed with all kinds of features to support both photographers and cinematographers alike. Features include a 16.05-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor, image processor capable of capturing high-resolution JPEG and RAW stills, cinematic DCI 4K 4096×2160 video at 24p, a micro four thirds image sensor & lens mount & more.

Just when I thought we were past this nonsense:thumbdown
They take it to the next level.
I guess parents CCs still have some credit on them for their highschoolers movie making career ;)

I will say this was the most informational and knowledgeable interview about the camera I've seen. You could tell Matt Frazier really knew his stuff. It wasn't, "I think" and "might." He said exactly what he knew, told us what he didn't. Didn't try to hock just Panasonic gear. I can honestly say, just judging Matt's part, this was one of the most straight forward interviews about a product I've seen. Of course the Zacuto guys come off a bit um... differently. But I just keep getting more excited about this camera. It's really all the little things. 4k is great, I'm going to enjoy it even in 4:2:0 8 bit. I'll enjoy cropping down and reframing, and having that extra resolution if I do take one of my shorts to the cinema. But it's the focus peaking, the improved displays, the improved Lumix Link app (hopefully). Coming from a GH2, I'll be happy to have the headphone jack, the wi-fi capability and the better battery life. This is the camera for me!

im sold at high ISO shooting for video. That was the downfall for the gh3 for me. I tried to shoot a live presentation at only 800 ISO yesterday and the footage is noisy to where its not usable.

Really? Because I shoot at ISO800 all the time and I find the results beautiful. Sure there is a tiny bit of noise in the shadows, but nothing Neat Video can't take care of.

I'm not a Zacuto gear fan, but this was a superb little preview production. Some of that well lit GH 4 footage was quietly very very solid quality.
