Squeeze Mode, MAgic bullet white diffusion

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

Hmm, I would like to see a boost in contrast/blacks, that's just my opinion ;)

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

yea i just kinad loaded the raw footage inthe computer and droppe white diffusion on it, i havent had time to play yet, too many finals and papers

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

That look was very popular in the 80s. Seems like a terror film from afternoon TV. But in a nice way...

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

i definitly do want it o look old and washy, i think i might add film grain, to make it look super 16, or even super 8.  i liked the end of Texas chain saw masacre  when the police go on a tour of the basement and leatherface kills them.  i want it in color. though.  the grainy old low fi look.  I hear the DVX loses half its resolution at one click above full iris close.  so maybe i can simulate the look that way and keep it 24 P. so far ive just been keeping it out of focus slightly. ori could add 12DB of gain even in bright light.

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

Depends, what sort of color manipulation skills do you have (and what software)? You can recreate any of the magic bullet looks if you know what you are doing.

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

well a short version of MAgic bullet came with MY DVx thats the only reason i have it. i really dont think its the full version cause i cant find the Film effects filter s they taked about so much in the tutorial video. I use vegas any body know where the MB film effects are, especailly the dammaged film looks.

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

Like the dark look 8)

So what's the story line? This guy tied to the tree try to steal your DVX?

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

well since i cannot afford a full fledged movie, i make the most dynamic scenes, or the plot twist points, where the audience can fill i the rest. basically its a little kid that was murdered, ( wondefully acte by my 10 year old cousin, who didint budge and inch for nearly 10 minutes) and Detevtives are surveyting the crime scene.

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

I thought you used like a promist filter. I guess not. Looks good just up your blacks alittle. I don't know about the ass shot. He could of been repositioned alittle differently. Just my 1 dollar in food stamp opinion.

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

well ass shots aside, this was as dead as we could make him look. lol

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

Not to be presumptuous, but I boosted the blacks on one of your screen shots, changed the hue, and boosted the contrast (the overall effect maybe more than you are looking for)....this is just to give you a sense of what you can do with the shot:

Of course one of the things you actually lose is the diffusion effect :D

Suddenly everybody get a hang on their CC filters and everything is CSI. ;D

I think he wanted a "washed-out" look...

But nice greens Disjecta, pretty cool anyway!

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

yea it looks cool but i want a 8mm look. bad film, light leak kinda look. i tweaked last night, i will post grabs soon.

Re: First linear story with DVX "Victim"

Looking forward to them. That's the one thing I can never figure how to do. Post stuff on the internet or capture stuff. I read all the pinnedups but I still don't get it.
