First Letus Extreme Specific Rail System

how about riggin the camera low n adapter high.. so far ive seen one solution. an its too expensive.

I totally agree with you. If the camera sits high, it is quite unnatural as far as the ergonomics is concerned. I like Zacuto's solution better.

exactly, yet its far to expensive.

part of the reason i dont want my camera high slung is because of hte effect it will have on my glidecam 4000 pro. I dont mind on a tripod, but also the security of having it on the actual rails themselves will make me much more at ease.

is there any way the Letus guys could be persuaded to make a new support bracket or even an additional bracket that fits into the original bracket that would allow the Letus Extreme to be used high(upside down) and the camera low?

I've wasted enough money on cheaper solutions to recognize that our Zacuto gear really isn't expensive when you realize you're just never going to have to replace it unless you lose it.

Zacuto complete solution is; zacuto base plate $ 560 and the riser is $ 330
That is $ 890.00

Cavision complete solution is $ 270.00

I prefer to have the zacuto solution where the camera has low center of gravity, close to the tripod head. I hope an affordable system that is similar to the zacuto system will emerge soon.

ProjX,

No need to persuade, it's been in the work since last week. It will be 10cm instead of 7cm.

Thanks,

Hien

the problem with that setup is that the base plate is directly underneath the camera, so this isnt very practical for trying to get your center of gravity more in between the camera and the letus itself.

Awesome news.

Will it be the same price as the original support bracket? And if so, is this something that can be swapped if our order hasn't been shipped yet?

Thanks again.

i didn't say it did. i'm simply stating, when looking at something like cinevate's rails, that even though it does not seem as stable, the mounting plate can be manoevered back and forawrds to adjust the horizontal balance of the rigg and not have it front or back heavy on a tripod, crane, steadicam, etc...

You can do the same thing with the Zacuto baseplate. And in their shoulder mount setups, you can balance with other things like batteries. However that is not necessary to obtain balance with just their baseplate configuration

Zacuto gear is the best and made to last. Might cost a bit more but it can be false economy to skimp. I would buy Zacuto gear over nearly evereything. Their base plate is the dogs danglies.

When the Brevis flip comes out shortly I hope this fits that!

Yes Steve, I agree on all parts. The Zacuto setup will work with all flip modules. I plan on getting one and will post pictures and a detailed review of different aspects and how it can fit into your workflow.
