First Footage With DVX100B

What's up! I recorded this a while back and finally decided to share it with you guys. This is my first footage with my DVX100b. I wasn't sure what to shoot so I pointed the camera at my cats and let them do their thing.

Let me know what you think. I hope to have some more interesting stuff up in the future.

Not too bad. A few things.

Were your settings on fully auto? It looked like auto focus and auto exposure. Not necessarily bad, but I recommend getting used to the focus ring and the exposure changes, as they will be helpful in settings where auto settings are less desirable.

Also, I love cats, and yours are very cute, but admittedly, this was not the most interesting video, in terms of subject or angles. Just a little boring.

That said, enjoy the camera. I feel like I'm still learning stuff every time I use it, and I've had it some two years now.

Hope that feedback helps. :)

Thanks for the comments! I def will keep your ideas in mind. I haven't really messed with the focus ring yet. I think i can see what you are referring to in the video. I'll also try messing with exposure too!

The guy that sold me the camera suggested that I shoot and try anything/everything to get used to camera. I also never used any video editing software before.

First steps into a large world :-) Thanks for the suggestions!

He's definitely right. Shoot as much as you can, even if you have to use the auto features for now. It's an awesome camera, and as I was saying, there's a lot to learn, but it's a fun road to travel.

And make sure to come back to dvxuser if you have any questions. My education of this camera was probably 40% experimentation and 60% this website, it's a fantastic resource with some very friendly and knowledgeable people. Remember, everyone was in your shoes with this camera at some point.

Good luck and have fun learning!
