There are plenty of challenging scenes there. He is shooting exactly as he shoots: to get a good image. So, it is not surprising that he is shooting within the limits of most cameras, because those are usually where the beauty shots are. But there were some shots that would put a strain on lesser sensors. I cannot imagine the GH2 looking that good on those exact same shots....the light-meter readings in the video/framegrabs seem to indicate that these scenes were not really THAT demanding in this respect. What am I missing?
The nice thing about the extra DR is better roll off in the highlights, and more shadow detail, in my opinion. Not to "see" into them, but for them to be there quietly, like supporting characters. Haha, i am starting to sound cheesy.
I like the apparent feel of the mids on most cameras. It is the highlights and shadows that suffer. The idea of getting more cushion on the extremes, while keeping the mids more normal is what appeals to me.
