DOC: First Film Project

I am very excited as I found a graphic designer to make my website (finally). So far it looks bad ass. It has the look, feel and imagery that I have been looking for. Plus it holds its professionalism. In addition to that I am having more art work done which will serve as promo posters and perhaps use them on the site as well. They will be a part of the merchandising that will be used to raise funds. Speaking of funds, Operation First Response and Wounded Warriors Family Support have been excellent in supporting the project and they will help promote this film as well. They get so many hits on their sites it is staggering so this should be a great thing...(hold breathe).

So, for next topic I am looking for input from you. I really need some advise on choosing a voice for the promo trailer. I have it narrowed down to (2) people; Thom Wilkins & Doug Medlock.

Listen to Thom's very first demo in the box. (http://www.thomwilkins.com/) The voice I like is the very first part where he is talking about Alaska....(that voice)....or

Doug Medlock's Promo/Trailer (http://www.dougmedlock.com/)

So those are my two options. Thom Wilkins is the actual narrator for the documentary but Doug has that promo/trailer voice going on but Thom also has a more unique approach that does lend itself to the style of and theme of the project.

I really could use your guys' input on this one. In the meantime, I am working to get the website up and running and the art work completed. I am excited to post this stuff. Thanks for reading.

well, I have my website nearly complete. I am very pleased with it as it is simple and straightforward. The site serves as both an informational site and a means for donating to the Wounded Warrior cause. I am working on getting some merchandise up and running as well. I have t-shirts being made, hats and dog tags that all look great. I have a guy also who should be finished with the poster this week and I will post that as soon as I get it. I have a lot going on in the background so it will be nice when it all comes to together. When the site is done I will in high hopes the trailer will near complete.

ok, so finally the website is up! I have been waiting for a very long time. Now I just need the trailer done and I will be doing damn well. Please take a moment and visit Under the Skin's website. I am very proud to be doing what I am doing. I am supporting and in turn receiving support from two major Wounded Warrior funds.

If you can we ask that you donate just a dollar. That is all. If we can collect one dollar from enough traffic it will add up. Of course more is always better. Please support us Wounded Warriors. We are the ones out there on the front lines fighting and living in substandard conditions so that back here we can maintain our way of life..... like making films! We are a very fortunate people. Your support will help greatly with just $1. Please leave comments as well either here or on the site. Thank you for your support.

Well, it has been a very long time since I wrote on here because of a surgery and me being in and out of the hospital, it kept me less than active form this site. I was having serious trouble getting footage from my earlier work in Hawaii shot on the RED ONE to work on my PC but yesterday I finally did it! I have my trailer narrowed down to about 4 minutes with sounds and images all over the place. It will take another week of hard work to straighten it out and get it into a reasonable time format for RANDIN GRAVES to put his magic touch on the sound for me. If I realized how much work went into making a film when I first started I would of thought twice about doing everything myself. But I can't really say I have regrets giving how much I learned from this process. Currently, the trailer is about done and I still need a few more warriors with tattoos to talk in the documentary then I need to figure out how I will do my reenactments. That is the hard part. Well, good to post, back to work...

Ah, that's why you've been so quiet. I'm sorry to hear you've been having a hard time! I hope you're out of the woods, health-wise, now.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got!
