first dvx footage

I liked the 2nd shot the most because of the nice paralax. I did notice a lot of ghosting? What settings did you shoot on? Was this captured properly/output?

try lowering your master ped a little that will add some nice contrast and make your shots a little punchier. also that shot of the sun, i dont know exactly where i heard this but i did hear that if u point your camera at the sun it could like fry the CCDs or something, just something to look out for. these are all suggestions, keep at it.

the first 3 tricks i lowered the color temp all the way down which made it really weird looking so i had to do some color correction. but the settings in the other clips was...

shutter speed 500

detail level 0
chroma level +4
chroma phase 0
color temp -2
master ped 0
a. iris 0
gama norm
matrix norm

it was captured in fcp and im not sure what you mean by ghosting. but thanks for telling me that about the sun, im deff not doing that agian just to make sure. and any tips would be appreciated.

oh and im not sure why theres black bars on each side of the clip, i know it does that on vx1000's but dvx's normally dont do that

Wow, you live in Atlanta? I recognize those spots -- Freedom and Satellite Rail (huge bust). Congrats on the DVX, you thinking of getting the MK2 next?

EDIT: Wait, Scott?!

Freeze frame one of the first clips, or where there's a lot of motion. You will see a duplicate of the guy, slightly transparent. This is NOT motion blur. What frame rate did you shoot in and what settings did you capture it with FCP?

ohh thats because i deinterlaced it. and it was shot in 60i. and the capture/input setting are DV NTSC 48 kHz

i just set it to de-interlace when i exported it, but im not worried about the first 2 tricks cause its nothing special.

yeah i thought it was weird too, but i just figured since it was a fast clip and it was de-interlaced, it would do that. but thanks man ill post more stuff up soon
