wrote up a recap of my first time using the a7s and shogun on a shoot for a local fashion company. the spot should be up later this week in 4k (i'll update this post with a link). for now there are some colored screen grabs (some raw ones were posted in the clean blacks thread).

i'd be interested in hearing any thoughts.
thanks to those on this forum who gave me some initial insight on proper techniques when exposing the a7s (though you'll see the results when i couldn't always abide by their suggestions).

Well you certainly approached it from a very disciplined perspective. It shows in the stills.
Very very clean stuff.

The closeups look like maybe you used diffusion or Red Giant Cosmo for an air-brushed even-ness on the girls faces?

Great write up!
Please continue your reports on the Shogun.

thanks stewart. i typically shoot with a 1/2 hollywood black magic on digital cameras to soften the image. the really close image of the Hawaiian model had some cosmo applied, and at full res it doesn't seem like much (it was just standard application) but when downresed for web it looks heavy.... something that i'll be mindful of and ill have the editor change that effect before the final export today.

hey guys i just updated the original post to include the video. i'd love any feedback as this was my first shoot with this camera.
