Trying to film more and more sports, here's a short edit from the day.

I found the Ex Tele Converter incredibly handy to be able to switch to different focal lengths on the fly very quickly. That and the 50p recording made it a pleasure to film. Is there anything I could have done better?

What do you find most useful when filming sports?

Thanks!

Lenses used;
panny 14mm f2.5
panny 35-100mm f2.8
panny 25mm f1.4

Settings;

Photo Style - Custom (natural) -5, -5, -2, 0
rec qual - Mov All-Intra @25p, and normal Mov 50p for the full HD slow motion (sucks that The All-Intra isn't avalible for full 1080 50p).

Went for a desaturated look for the grade, this is probably where I'm the least confident and normally resort to just trying stuff out.

The grade looks fine to me. Then again, I'm sort of a novice.
Was most of the footage shot using a tripod/fluid head? What sort of support gear were you using?

Started shooting mainly on a tripod using just a Manfrotto 701HDV
Had a slider which I placed on the floor, personally these are some of my favorite shots (00:41 - 01:00 is all slider action)
Then the rest is handheld the Power OIS on the 35-100mm helped with this

That's it!, Loving the GH3 mainly because of it's size I've been finding that I can get away with carrying less support gear.

Nice stuff - and no daft shallow DoF Arty-Farty stuff. Not being a DSLR user, was the flickering screen in the background visible in the v/f, or did you have to wait until in the machine before it was obvious?

Yes the monitors flickering was visible on the viewfinder. I was shooting at 1/100th shutter for the slowmo, I imagine shooting at 1/120 would have solved this issue, should have thought of that at the time!

Although I could only do 50p so I was keen to keep the 180deg shutter.

I would be more concerned about matching the flicker of the lights than trying to match some antiquated theory like the 180 degree shutter rule. Luckily for you it looks like 1/100 worked for both the lights and the antiquated theory.

Looks good! Nice riding slowmo shots. Great edit as well. Well paced on the music's rhythm.
Grade is not bad, maybe a bit too flat for my liking.

Keep it up!

All manual moves using the slider. The Slider was a Konova K2, which I find easy to slide and it's very compact. A good match for the GH3.

I used to have a Slyder Dolly by Digital Juice, while sturdy it was just too large for the GH3.
