HPX250: First AJ-PX270 footage I've found.

Thanks for posting. First footage with a grain of salt...Hope it gets better! Not the best video footage I have ever seen.

It looks good, but in my weeks of trying to decide between the PX270 and the HPX250 i've seen footage that looks better and worse from both cameras. I am glad that this is here though. I am still leaning toward the HPX250 and this footage is helping me feel confident in that decision.

They say this is LongG 12

This is where diffraction rule must be obeyed: Shoot everything below f/4. This was originally recommend by Barry and ever since I follow that rule, I manage to get pretty good results. Add circular polarizer or ND .06 or .09 to help get the iris down to f/4 on all full sunny exteriors. On 2/3" or 11mm sensor, I can get away with f/8-11 and it's sharp as f/4. But after working for 2 years w/ the HPX-250 and if I obey the rule of f/4, it's pretty darn good for a $5K camera. Can't never replace 2/3" w/ broadcast optics, but it's darn good most of the times.

My first impression is that it looks like it was set to auto mode and literally the highlights are overexposed by 1/2-1 stop. I must of imagine the IRE on the waveform must be all at 100-120 IRE. Plus the clouds have absolutely no definition. There are plenty of chromatic aberration. I see small purple fringes at the water and overall wide lake shot. A deadly combination for f/11 and lack of ND or CPL filters on the PX270. With the max ND on PX270, I suspect the PX270 is at f/8-11. Way over the limit for 1/3" sensor. W/ the polarizer, you can at least get a deep punchy sky and gradient. On Panasonic HPX2000-300 2/3" with DRS, highlights are well controlled and the exposure is dead on accurate but costs 10x more. But here it's all flat and looks like generic default setting w/ no color character to the footage. Not a good example to base purchasing decision.
