First 3rd party Odyseey accessory I've seen

Not sure this belongs in the FS700 area, since the odyssey will work with lots of cameras, but it seems like the bulk of the discussions regarding it are here.

I found it hard to discern any detail from the images, but the description seems pretty helpful.

Can't say I'm a big fan of that design. Lots of added bulk and it looks like it covers part of the screen. I'm hoping for someone to come out with a SmallHD DP6 style hood.

Hi Tony, I'm wondering if we'll still need an EVF. Sure sometimes it'll be a necessity but for normal run and gun you think the odysseyQ will suffice? Thanks

I've always preferred a monitor to an EVF personally. I do most of my shooting from a tripod/jib/dolly/etc. where I prefer a good monitor. I'm looking forward to the 7Q as a monitor just as much as a recorder.

I so much more prefer a monitor to an eye view finder. I have a 7" monitor for shoulder mount stuff and it all runs off of my v-mount battery system so its not that much more added weight than a EVF.

I know EVF's long outdate monitors for shoulder mount work but EVF's just seem so counter-intuitive to me when using a shoulder mount system. I feel way more confident and comfortable moving around with a Monitor vs EVF.
