Firmware wishes

I was just wondering if the firmware could be updated so that we can edit the settings via a computer and then load them onto the camera?

Searching through the menu and doing it can be confusing as to what you have changed, and what you still would like to change.

It would be nice to be able to use the P2 viewer software to modify all the parameters of the camera from one visual screen layout from a laptop.

That seems do-able, and would be so nice!

Panasonic are you listening?

If this is already something that can be done, then enlighten me on the process.

That would be a great feature.

JVC has a cool feature on the HD100-U; a small memory chip that you insert into the side of the camera which can store camera settings or access stored set-ups with the push of a button.

I went to a two day seminar on the camera and one of the speakers is a documentary filmmaker who has several chips he keeps in the case, each one set for specific lighting conditions, for example:

Interior fluorescent/ interior tungsten and another with exterior presets like EXT, Sunny / EXT cloudy, etc. He had five chips and I think each one had three variables, so when he got to his location he would just insert the appropriate chip and do minor tweaking on set.

I don't think it's going to happen this round on the HVX due to Murphy's Law, since my camera is in the mail to me now, the feature will probably come out in the next batch of cameras.
