Just updated to v2 and I'm hoping a couple changes to make life easier will make its way to v3. What I'd like to see:
1 - Gain/ISO - Why are there only two options, the 3 switchable presets and auto? Seems like an easy firmware fix to have a third push of the gain button allow us to scroll from 0 - 30db, like we do with the shutter speed, and select the exact gain setting to fit the lighting. Its annoying to have to guess where to set the presets and then make changes in the field if you don't have the correct gain in the preset. I use the Singh-Ray vari ND to help me get the preferred aperture, but sometimes it would be nice to eliminate that step. I'm not shooting on sets so something more run-and-gun friendly would be nice.
2 - File numbers - everything starts at 00000 and goes from there, god forbid you swap cards during a shoot, then you have two sets of overlapping file numbers. I'm constantly doing the record button dance. My last shoot had 200+ files for less than 30 minutes of video. That was spread between 2 cards and having to add a letter or number to each file from the first card so there are no conflicting numbers is a waste of time. I don't record while recomposing, had to preserve tape back in the day and its a habit that's stuck with me. Please enable sequential file numbering, like every still camera I've ever owned. My wife has one of the early tapeless SD camcorders, its 5 or 6 years old and cost her $200 and her camera has continuous numbering even after you switch or reformat the card, grrrr...
I'd like to be able to name the picture profiles too instead of just PP1, PP2 and so on, but that doesn't seem likely.
Any others?
