GH4 Firmware update

I've been trying to apply the firmware update GH4__f11. I formatted the sd card in-camera
then downloaded the firmware which is a bin file and once I try applying it I get this message
on my camera's screen: "Firmware update must be a bin file." Anyone else having this issue or
can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Are you trying to put the zipped folder on the card? I didn't have a problem at all. Just put the .bin file on the card (I took a few pics so it wasn't the only file on there), made sure I had a full battery and it was good to go.

I had a problem updating on my macbook pro, eventually got it to work by copying the bin file onto my desktop then copying it onto sdhc card then deleting all the other files (i.e. move to trash) leaving just the bin file on the card (128gb transcend). Put it into gh4 switched on then pressed play button and hey presto it worked!

FYI, it is very hard to read this font color here.

I had the same problem. The update downloads as an .exe file. Double Click on the file you downloaded to open it, click "Run", then click "Install" and it should convert to a .bin file. It will appear in the same folder as the .exe file. Format a card in the GH4, move the card to your computer, drag the .bin file to the card right under the 3 folders, move the card back to the GH4 (powered off) with a full battery, turn it on and hit the green play button on the left side of the camera. It will ask you to confirm starting the version up, click yes and then don't touch anything until the task bar disappears.

Good Luck!
