GH3 Firmware 1.1 bug?

I just upgraded my GH3 to firmware 1.1 and now if I'm in AFC or AFS and put my eye to the EVF - it switches and adds a quick flash of white before it settles. It doesn't do it in MF. MY son hasn't upgraded to 1.1 yet so his GH3 doesn't do it. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? I am so disappointed.

Of course I will, but I was hoping that either I'm missing something or others are having the same problem. What I have discovered since I posted is that on my son's GH3 1.0, he can have his EVF sensor AF set to "ON" and it won't flash white when you first put your eye up to it. On mine it does, but if I turn the EVF sensor AF to OFF it doesn't do it. He was suggesting that it might have been disabled in 1.0 and now works by flashing bright to get focus when you put your eye up to it. That maybe this was part of the AFC pinpoint AF upgrades Panasonic loosely spoke of. Thoughts?

Last post, I promise. Obviously, no one else is experiencing this. Can anyone suggest how I can get back to firmware 1.0? I'd like to restore it and try again.

I don't have a solution for you but just to let you know... I did the upgrade last night and just tried out your scenario. No problems here, such as you describe, so I don't think it's the firmware. Sounds like you'll have to contact Panasonic.

Good luck.

Edit:
Did you try applying the upgrade again? Don't know that it would perform it since the version would already registered, but it's a possibility.

Thanks for the response, Rosebud. I may have not described this correctly as I was saying white flash when I should have said a brightening luminance shift in the evf when putting the camera to eye. It is the same shift when you push the shutter button down halfway in afs or afc. This does not happen in picture mode ONLY in movie mode and only in AFS or AFC. It looks to me that it's just focusing as its supposed to, but I don't understand why the GH3 1.0 doesn't do it. It's a bit annoying, but can be lived with. I will eventually call Panasonic about this, just for peace of mind.

So, after my son did the update to 1.1 his GH3 did the same thing. So, all is good. It must be an AF enhancement. Sorry for being, "chicken little," everyone.
