Hey folks, I'm cleaning out extra stuff I'm not using. Here's a Firmtek 1S-2 SATA PCI card and 2 Metal Gear Box cases with power supplies, all cables needed!
This kit works great to add 2 SATA drives (not included) to your G5 tower. I had them hooked up to my original G5 dual 2ghz, and have since upgraded to different card (4 port) and cases. This kit was basically "built" by me, since if you remember when the G5's first came out, there wasn't much SATA stuff around, so I got these Metal Gear Box USB cases, gutted them, kept the power supplies and switches hooked up, and put in true SATA drives. Then I trimmed notches in the Firmtek card so the cables route outside the computer and walla, I had external SATA drives on my G5, outside the box where they stay nice and cool. This setup ran for 2 years straight with no problems, editing a feature film.
Everything is included for you to add 2 SATA drives to your system. If you don't know how to install a PCI card, or screw drives into cases, I suggest you buy something else, but if you're looking for a CHEAP way to add some drives, here it is!
