Hi all , just joined the forum after the recent purchase of my 151 (thats what they call them over here in scotland anyway) and sofar it has been an absolute joy to work with

I am doing guy fawkes night over here in my local town of dunfermline and am trying to find the best settings for a fireworks display, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Be sure to set your focus right (perhaps that's obvious), but the last time I filmed this great time-lapse of the sun coming out from behind the clouds, I actually had it out of focus. The HMC's LCD is I think lower than standard-def so it's hard to get a good focus. Be sure to zoom in the whole way and use the zoom focus assist to nail your focus on the first explosion.

Aside from that nothing too special I think. Just don't leave anything in automatic because then your camera would freak out in between explosions.

Glad to have you :)

thanks, wont be any issues with sunlight as its pitch dark from about 4 maybee 5pm over here in november, its crazy but great for early evening movies.

Set focus to infinity, gain +6 or 12db max, point and shoot. Fireworks are easy and invariably come out really well.
