firewire problems

I have a new Dell laptop the does not have a pci card slots. all i have is usb ports. i would like to connect my DVX100 to my laptop. i tried a usb/firewire hub (GUH420) but does not seem to work. does anyone know of a way to connect the dvx to my laptop through firewire ? at wits end.

you have NO expansion/card slots? is this a net book or something?

Instead of PCI, you must mean no PCMCIA or Express Card slot. Those are cheap and easy to find.

correct, I have no pcmcia slots. just usb ports and no it's not a net book

I have an HP laptop (not netbook) that also has no PCMCIA slot. So far, no decent solution to this issue.

Do you have any kind of expansion slot at all?

I don't know about the OP, but my HP laptop has no expansion slot of any kind.
