firewire issue

My firewire detects the sony handycam no problem, but it wont detect that the DVX100b is plugged in (Camera or VCR mode). IS there a certain setting in the camera or driver for the card that im not aware of?
 
Hello Jon,

There are no settings in particular that need to be set for 1394 operation. It sounds like you got to experience a typical problem with 1394. It was most likely static that caused a problem. There should be circuit protectors to avoid PCB damage in this case. To know for sure, we or another authorized service center would have to take a look at it.
